Our Curriculum

At Grand Oak, every day is shaped by the Early Years Foundation Stage framework, the national standard for high quality early years education in England. Our practice is built around the seven areas of learning that together support a child's whole development, from their earliest babbles to their first written letters.

Prime Areas

Communication and Language

Building rich vocabulary, listening, and confident self-expression.

Physical Development

Strength, coordination, and the joy of moving through the world.

Personal, Social and Emotional Development

Confidence, kindness, and the foundations of friendship.

Specific Areas

Literacy

Early love of stories, songs, mark making, and the first steps of reading and writing.

Mathematics

Numbers, patterns, and shapes brought to life through everyday play.

Understanding the World

Curiosity about people, places, and the natural environment around us.

Expressive Arts and Design

Creativity through spiritual reciting, art, role play, and imaginative exploration.

Every child at Grand Oak is observed, supported, and celebrated by their key person across all seven areas, with termly progress shared openly with families. Our approach is thoughtful, warm, and rooted in the belief that every child deserves the strongest possible start.
